Political Science students to debate part-time legislature initiative

The Long Beach City College Political Science Student Association is hosting a debate on the “Citizen Legislature Act,” a proposal to transform the California Legislature (the Assembly and Senate) from a full-time enterprise back to a part-time legislature. Proponents of this initiative hope to qualify the measure for the 2010 General Election Ballot. The measure is in the petition signing stage currently.
Gabriella Holt of Citizens for California Reform will be speaking in support of a part-time legislature. Dario Frommer of Californians for an Effective Legislature will represent the opposition.

Where: Long Beach City College: Nordic Lounge (Student Union or Building E), 4901 E Carson Street at Intersection of Carson and Clark
Parking is available near the location in the lots of Carson in metered spaces or by purchasing a permit for $1.
