2014-02-27 · By Editor
Power 4 Youth, an academic mentoring program for middle school students will be holding a no-obligation information meeting for prospective volunteers on Monday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m.
“As the new semester begins for students, we have many youth looking for guidance and academic help. Our goal is to help youth to achieve their best they through the help of a one-on-one mentor,” explains Val Parker, Executive Director. “Youth are looking for this support. It doesn’t take much to make a big difference in a teen’s life!”
The program is looking for adults who can meet one-on-one with a youth weekly at the supervised locations to assist with academic help while building a trusting mentor relationship with a young person. Training is provided at no cost; the program is free and open to all adults and students.
The meeting will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 5225 Hayter Avenue, one of the six community sites Power 4 Youth operates. To find out more about the information meeting and Power 4 Youth, call 562-435-2352 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
