Power 4 Youth, an academic mentoring program for at-risk middle school students, will be holding a no-obligation information meeting for prospective volunteers on Monday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m. The program is looking for adults from all walks of life to meet weekly one-on-one with a youth at Power 4 Youth sites to assist with academic help through building a caring mentor relationship with a young person.
“I invite all our community members to do their little bit of good wherever they are. For the saying goes, it’s those bits of good put together that transform the world. Our goal as an organization is to help our youth achieve the best of their potential through the help of a one-on-one mentor,” says Samana Budhathoki, Match Supervisor. “All youths need and deserve to be supported, encouraged, cared, and accepted for who they are. We hope this new year, we are able to match more youth with mentors. Therefore, we need more volunteers than ever before.”
The meeting will be held at 5225 Hayter Ave. Lakewood 90712— one of the five community sites Power 4 Youth operates in Long Beach area. To find out more about the information meeting and Power 4 Youth, call 562-443-2902 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
