There’s something inspiring about Spring. The sun finally starts to warm through the marine layer, the grass gets a little greener and flowers prepare to bloom again. It’s a season of growth and renewal. It may just inspire you to seek a little growth of your own.
What better way to enjoy the newness of Spring than by learning something new? The city of Long Beach offers classes in art, music, nature, sports fitness and a variety of special interests that change with the seasons.
There are many ways to join the fun. Choose from classes in topics such as:
- Adult Sports Leagues
- Arts & Culture
- Dance or Fitness
- Learn a new Language
- Nature & Environmental
Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine has more than 400 classes, including adult sports leagues and aquatics programs, scheduled from March through May 2010. These programs and classes provide opportunities for exercise and recreation, social interaction and learning, and growth and relaxation for ages pre-school to adults 50+.
The new spring Long Beach Recreation Class Guide with new and ongoing classes and programs is on the website for early viewing and downloading at www.LBParks.org. Copies of the class guide are also available at park community centers and city libraries. Upcoming issues will be published in May and August 2010.

- *Call in by Touch Tone (562) 570-7171.
- *Log in at www.LBParks.org.
- Mail in the registration form on page 39 of the Recreation Class Guide.
- FAX in the registration form to (562) 570-3113 and pay by VISA or MasterCard.
- Walk in to the Registration/Reservation Office at 2760 Studebaker Road. Office hours are M-F, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The office will be closed on May 31.
