Primal Alchemy Catering Offers Summer Cooking Classes for Adults and Children

This summer learn how to turn fresh local ingredients into rich, flavorful dishes with interactive cooking classes from Chef Paul Buchanan and his Long Beach catering company Primal Alchemy at their new kitchen by the sea!

The Summer Cooking Class Series: A fun and playful experience that welcomes every level of culinary expertise. Ten individual classes each have a unique focus on mastering the basics in everything from making pasta by hand to breaking down a 200lb red Duroc heritage breed pig!

“There is something for everyone in our cooking classes,” said Chef Paul. “You can learn the secrets of vegetarian cuisine or learn how to prepare the perfect steak. But most importantly, you’ll discover the importance of using local, fresh food in your everyday cooking.” Some of the class titles include “Men & Their Meat, Father’s Day Edition” and “Farmers Market Field Trip” (where you will shop with the chef, then cook with your finds).

Primal Alchemy is also offering a Youth Chef Certificate Program for children 8 years old and up. Here they will be able to explore kitchen equipment, learn how to identify and use products, discover how ingredients are transformed with flame, heat, cold and mixing, and finally apply these skills to create delicious meals without recipes!

Also offered in July are weekly summer camps, consisting of 4 days each, are organized by age group. The four days cover: Tools of the Trade, Everything Edible, The Alchemy of Cooking and Let’s Rock…Cooking!  Tickets for each 4 day camp are $180.

In addition to these two series, Primal Alchemy offers private custom group classes.

Chef Paul Buchanan transforms fresh ingredients from local farmers and artisanal food sources into an amazing dining experience.  He has set himself apart from the many caterers in Southern California through his passion for using sustainable, organic foods.
