Progressive Dinner Party Long Beach will hold a casual dinner benefiting the afterschool program CANTA! on Sunday October 17, 2010. See lovely homes and good friends once more while engaging in community matters that matter to you.
CANTA! is an exciting afterschool program for 4th and 5th grade students living in downtown Long Beach. Presented by The Neighborhood United Methodist Community in collaboration with the Long Beach Opera and Fitness 4 All, CANTA! is committed to the creative and integrated development of children’s mind, spirit, and body! The students gather three afternoons per week, receiving homework assistance and focused tutoring; particularly strengthen their capacities in language and math. They then have the opportunity to participate in special classes that provide innovative and holistic approaches to learning: “Music, Words, Opera,” “Plugged In” (computer classes), Progressive Marathon Program and Urban Agriculture. CANTA! provides a safe, friendly environment that offers children an opportunity to build community and positively instills confidence for seeking success in life.
The Progressive Dinner Party is Sunday October 17, 2010 from 4:30pm – 7:30pm at 21 Lindero Avenue LB, 90803. The donation request is $35.00. To RSVP or for more information please visit the Progressive Dinner Party Evite.
