Public Invited to Oct. 28 Celebration Recognizing October as Disability Employment Awareness Month

All residents are invited to join the Citizens Advisory Commission on disabilities (CACoD) in a celebration recognizing October as disability Employment Awareness Month. The free celebration is Thursday, October 28, from 12:00 noon – 3:30 pm at the Long Beach Main Library – Lower Level.
The following agencies that provide services to people with disabilities will staff informational booths and answer questions:
Social Security Administration; Career Connection – WUHSD; City of Long Beach Public Health Emergency Management, Housing Authority and Public Library; Department of Labor; Department of Rehabilitation; disability Rights California; Disabled Resources Center; Goodwill, Serving the People of Southern California; Harbor Regional Center; Internal Revenue Service (IRS); Long Beach Transit; Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority; Noble Dental Care; Office of Clients’ Rights Advocacy; Personal Assistance Services Council; SELACO; Southeast Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board; U.S. Veterans Affairs; Verdugo Job Center; and more.
