Councilwoman Suzie Price will host an informational meeting to discuss the process involved with the City possibly acquiring the Roe property at 5374 East 2nd Street to develop a public parking lot and/or structure. The meeting will be held on Monday, March 30th at 5:30 p.m. at the Third District Field Office, 340 Nieto Avenue.

“The possibility of acquiring additional public parking in Belmont Shore is worth exploring,” Councilwoman Price said in a statement. “I hope the community will join us to discuss the process involved with this type of transaction.”

The City’s Development Services Department has determined that the Roe property is zoned for a public parking lot and/or structure. This proposal is very preliminary and has not been publicly vetted.

Hardly an answer to “put up a parking lot”.
Build parking off PCH near that Best Western and people can shuttle on the Passport over 6 blocks or so.
And turn that current building into an art gallery coffee combo!
Build it and they will come….

Nothing seems to survive on that corner business-wise and it adjoins an existing parking lot to the south, what would make sense is to build a parking STRUCTURE to accommodate a significant number of cars–not just a few.
