In honor of the 40th Anniversary of National Volunteer Week, Rancho Los Alamitos will be presenting a Volunteer Recruitment Program on Saturday, April 12 from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Guests should plan to arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. to learn about the Rancho’s volunteer opportunities, tour the Rancho, talk to members of the volunteer committees and enjoy light refreshments. Free parking for this event will be at the Rancho. RSVP to Nina at (562) 431-3541 or info@rancholosalamitos.org.

Volunteers bring the Rancho to life through their creative efforts. Volunteers support every facet of Ranch activity, from offering school tours and educational special events that attract thousands to providing specialized garden care and performing skilled curatorial tasks.

There are six volunteer service areas at Rancho Los Alamitos including Curatorial, Docent Tours and School Programs, Gardens, Hospitality, Office and Administration, and Special Events and Public Programs. Each of the volunteer service areas at the Rancho offers a variety of associated opportunities, time commitments, and training to suit the particular interests and needs of its participants.

Specialized training for new Docents will begin May 6, 2014 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon through May 29th. Interested parties should call Teresa Barbee now at the Rancho at (562) 431-3541 for registration.
