A limited number of tickets are now on sale for Rancho Los Cerritos’ gala. This year’s theme, California Dreaming, celebrates 150 years of the Bixbys in Long Beach.

In 1866, Jotham Bixby became manager of Rancho Los Cerritos. He subsequently purchased the rancho, and through the Bixby Land Company and the family’s philanthropy, the Bixbys helped build Long Beach.

California Dreaming will transport guests to the Rancho’s Bixby era, with period entertainment and themed activities. Two hours of cocktails and activities will be followed by dinner, awards, and silent and live auctions.

TGIS, an award-winning catering company based in Long Beach, is partnering with the Rancho for the dinner. Other generous event sponsors include the Bixby Land Company; Farmers & Merchants Wealth Management; the Port of Long Beach; Tesoro; John Fielder & Donita Van Horik; William & Carmen Lorbeer; Frank & Margie Newell; and Jean Smith and Barbara Blackwell.

The California Dreaming Gala will take place from 4:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25. Individual tickets are $150, with sponsorships beginning at $2,500.

All of the funds raised by California Dreaming support the Rancho’s educational programming and restoration of the historic home and gardens.
