Investigation Leads To Rearrest of LBPD Officer on Additional Sex Charges

On April 19, 2012, the Long Beach Police Department announced the arrest of Officer Noe Yanez for possession of child pornography. After an extensive investigation following that arrest, he was rearrested on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, and booked on multiple counts of sexually-based offenses.
Following the initial complaint and arrest of Yanez, the Long Beach Police Department continued their investigation, and additional victims were located and interviewed.
On May 7, 2012, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Justice System Integrity Division filed multiple counts against Yanez. As a result, he was rearrested and booked on the additional offenses, including arranging to meet a minor for lewd purposes. He is currently being held at the Los Angeles County Men’s Jail on $951,000 bail.
Yanez was suspended without pay following his initial arrest. He posted bond on April 20, 2012, and was released. He remains on suspension pending the outcome of the internal and criminal investigations.
