California State University, Long Beach’s (CSULB) 2015 Commencement will be a collection of 10 graduation ceremonies at the Long Beach campus. It will be Jane Close Conoley’s first commencement as CSULB’s president.
The commencement ceremonies for the eight colleges will be held over a four-day period, from May 19-22, beginning at 9 a.m. each day. The ceremonies will take place in the campus’ upper-quad area. For a full commencement schedule click here.
CSULB’s general campus address is 1250 Bellflower Blvd. in Long Beach with easy access from the 405, 605 and 22 freeways. View map here.
Nearly 10,000 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2014-15 academic year will be conferred, the most in the university’s history, and many of those earning degrees are expected to walk across the commencement stage. Despite years of declining investment by the state, CSULB’s record number of graduates is due to CSULB’s efforts to increase graduation rates which have been raised nearly 30 percent over the past decade.
“Commencement is the highlight of the academic year as we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating students, so I am truly looking forward to my first commencement at CSULB,” said President Jane Close Conoley. “Thanks to their hard work, and the support of family, friends, faculty and staff, the Class of 2015 goes into the world ready to succeed. I can’t wait to shake the hand of each one of our graduates and encourage them to stay connected and get involved. Our alumni contribute enormously to the strength and vitality of The Beach.”
