Long Beach Rescue Mission hosts the 32nd annual Long Beach Leadership Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, September 18 at the Renaissance Hotel on Ocean Boulevard. The purpose of the event is to unite community leaders throughout the city of Long Beach to pray together and receive God’s help, encouragement and blessings as they serve to strengthen the community. Last year over 360 business, nonprofit, educational, church, government and community leaders attended.

Two awards will be presented during the program. The Community Leadership Award will be presented to Mary White for offering hope and restoring dignity to victims of human trafficking and the Emerging Leadership Award will be presented to Brittney Olaes for providing volunteer opportunities for youth, outreach programs for blind veterans and educating the greater Long Beach Community about marine life preservation.

He is insightful, entertaining and will challenge leaders to understand who is painting the portrait of their life and leadership. A local musician, Sara Lindsay, will provide inspirational music. Former Long Beach Mayor Beverly O’Neill and Mike Walter, an Executive Assistant to the President at Long Beach State University, will read Scripture. Pastors from Cornerstone and Parkcrest churches will pray, and Dr. Greg Allen, son of former NFL and Long Beach State University Football Coach George Allen will provide insights from his own life experience during the Leadership Moment.
