Rock, Roll or Make Art! Youth Classes Ready for Summer Registration

Start your child’s summer off with fun, excitement, and learning. Your youngster can explore new interests with classes in Rockin’ Guitar or Basketball Fundementals. For younger children, expand their artistic explorations with two brand new are classes from Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine!
Rockin’ Guitar is for all budding electric or acoustic guitarists: learn what it takes to rock! Emphasis on beginning rock technique including power chords, simple blues, and rock licks. Bring your own guitar or rent one from us. This seven-week course has a 12-student maximum, and is for children ages 8 to 14, $105 per participant. Class will be held on Fridays from 6 to 6:50pm at Jammin’ Music and Arts (4229 Atlantic Ave) from June 17 to August 12 (no class on July 1 or August 5). Be sure to sign up soon!
Basketball Fundamentals is a unique blend of personal basketball training in a group setting. The instructor will focus on the basics of the game, including dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and overall proper technique. This four-week course is for ages 8 to 17, and is only $40 per participant. It will take place Saturdays from 10 to 11:15am at Pan American Park, with two available sessions: June 18 to July 9, or August 6 to 27.
Pee Wee Art Camps for Preschoolers
These classes are held at Averyboo Arts, 3908 Atlantic Ave, Long Beach, 90807. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up soon!
Pee Wee Art is an art experience class for toddlers and their favorite adult. Includes socialization time, painting, and a variety of process-oriented art that will encourage exploration and exercise fine motor skills. The class concludes with a story and group activity. Dress for fun! Parent participation is required. This four-week course is for children ages 2 to 3, and is $40 per participant with a $10 material fee to be paid in class (cash only). Space is limited to 10 students. The course will take place on Thursdays from 10 to 10:45am, with two available sessions: June 9 to June 30, or July 14 to August 4.
Little Picasso’s Art will teach students fundamental art concepts by creating a fun and unique work of art each week. This class will introduce historical and modern art, enhance vocabulary, fine motor and handwriting skills, understanding of basic shapes, colors, and more! Parental supervision is required. This four-week course is for children ages 4 to 6, and is $50 per participant with a $10 material fee to be paid in class (cash only). Space is limited to 8 students. The course will take place on Thursdays from 3:45 to 4:30pm, with two available sessions: June 9 to June 30, or July 14 to August 4.
