Local Professionals Invited to Apply for Rotary Exchange Program to Finland

Rotary International Exchange ProgramRotary District 5320 is looking for four young working professionals to become part of a four-week Group Study Exchange (GSE) with Rotary District 1390 in Finland.

The team will learn about their specific profession in Finland and share their experiences and knowledge with their Finnish counterparts. The team will also study the Finnish culture and will serve as goodwill ambassadors of the United States. The team will make presentations to Rotary groups in Finland. After the tour, the team members will make presentations to local Rotary Clubs.

The team will be led by Long Beach Rotarian and former Congressman Steve Kuykendall. The team will leave April 7, 2013 and return on May 5. Rotarians in Finland will house, feed and transport the team while they are in Finland. Rotary International pays for the airfare. Team members may have some incidental costs.

Team members must be between the ages of 25 and 40 on April 7, 2013 and cannot be directly related to a Rotarian. Team members must be an active working professional and must live or work in Rotary District 5320 area, which is southeast Los Angeles County (from Long Beach to Whittier) and all of Orange County.

Visit the Rotary website to find out more about Rotary International’s GSE program. Applications are due by Jan. 5, 2013. Applicants will be interviewed and selected on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.
