Last week, Los Angeles County 4th District Supervisor Don Knabe hosted a barbecue at Cerritos Regional Park for Safe Surrender families. Over 20 families came together to celebrate the program’s successes and form support groups to carry on its legacy. The evening was filled with great food, bounce houses and face painting.

In the past, they group has celebrated the program’s 10th anniversary, the 100th surrender, birthdays and the 125th surrender, when they planted a garden of life in Grand Park.

There would truly be no Safe Surrender program if there weren’t families willing to open their hearts and homes to these innocent children. It’s because of their love and devotion that 145 babies will have a chance to live a happy, healthy and productive life.
