Neighbors invited to ‘slow down and socialize’ at Samples on 7th

Join the businesses at 7th & Redondo (behind Starbucks) this Friday for conversation, tasty treats, and lovely music at a casual new business mixer dubbed Samples on 7th.
The Samples organizers are part of a small but determined group of business owners and residents who want to improve the 7th Street experience. The group envisions an 7th Street corridor with “enhanced walkablility, aesthetics, and safety with neighborhood spirit.”
The mixer will also support Luther Burbank School’s Garden of the Mind project which aims to innovate education through science and sustainability. The project is a two-year effort to restore the school’s façade and grounds to reflect its Long Beach historical significance, and the philosophy and science of Luther Burbank and world renowned botanist.
The school is currently working on the Junipero St. entrance, a community space which will include a park, seating and art. For further information about Burbank’s Garden of the Mind contact Lorraine Griego, Principal at LGriego@lbschools.net.
Businesses from 7th Street have contributed prizes for a raffle benefiting Burbank Elementary School including: a free tax return, small PO Box for a year, gift cards and coffee.
The first Samples on 7th mixer is Friday, February 26 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event is hosted by The UPS Store, Edible Arrangements, Starbucks, H&R Block with assistance from the Rose Park Neighborhood Association. The mixer will meet behind the Starbucks at 7th Street and Redondo Avenue.
