San Diego Breweries Take Over the Taps at James Republic in July

James Republic, the happening dining spot in downtown Long Beach, is tapping into two top beer dinners and offering two of its popular Dinner Bell series.

Tap Takeover events focus on Southern California breweries. Guests meet brew masters and enjoy a four-course tasting menu created by Executive Chef Dave Maclennan, complementing the style of the invited brewery. Each selection is available a la carte for the entire evening in the dining room and on the patio and the regular menu is also available. For reservations, please call (562) 901-0235.

Tap Takeover in July:
Tuesday, July 14 – Featuring Stone Brewing Co., known in part for its Arrogant Bastard Ale, the company is currently distributed in 41 states and is the first American craft brewer to open in Europe (this July) in Berlin.  Guests will have an opportunity to meet Brew masters Steve Wagner and Mitch Steele. http://www.stonebrewing.com/

Tuesday, July 28 – Showcasing San Diego’s Modern Times, known for its “funky weirdness” (according to Founder Jacob McKean) whose focus is on complex, flavorfuls pecialty beers and one-off batches.  Guest will mingle with McKean as part of their second anniversary celebrations. http://moderntimesbeer.com/

Dinner Bell Events in July/August:
James Republic’s Dinner Bell Supper Series has been popular with locals and visitors alike for the past two years.  Partnering with local farmers from the Long Beach Farmers Market, the Sunday evening dinners use ingredients gathered at the market that morning and used to create a family-style supper for attendees who also enjoy a meet and greet with the farmers and the culinary team.  Each event begins at 4:30 pm with market-inspired cocktails and canapés followed by a decadent three-course dinner.  Summer Dinner Bell events are scheduled for Sunday, July 19 and Sunday, August 16.
