Sand Sculpture Contest in Belmont Shore

sand-castle-contestThe Boardwalk Properties 76th Annual Great Sand Sculpture Contest, the oldest event of its kind in the United States, will be held from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, August 15 at Granada Beach in Long Beach.

The Sand Sculpture Contest will feature awards in a variety of categories, including a new Corporate Challenge. The day also includes music, Beach BBQ, a kid’s zone and arts and crafts vendors.

On-site registration begins at 8 a.m., with public viewing of the finished sculptures from 2-4 p.m. Team entry fees are: $99 (corporate), $50 (club/adult) and $20 (families/children’s groups). Pre-registration and related event information is available at or by calling (562) 434-1542.

The Great Sand Sculpture contest, a Charter Communications Long Beach Sea Festival event, is being organized by Alfredo’s Beach Club in association with the Long Beach Jr. Chamber of Commerce.
