Saturday Beach Cleanup where “Termino hits the sand”
2009-10-03 · By Editor
Grab your sandals and hit the shore this weekend for a Beach Cleanup this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Belmont Shore where Termino hits the sand in Long Beach.
Beach Cleanups are a great way for families, students, teams, service groups, and neighbors in the Long Beach area to join together, take care of our fragile marine environment, show community support for our beautiful beach, learn about the impacts of marine debris and how we can prevent them, and to have fun!
Each participant over 12 will receive a coupon for a free shake at Ruby’s Diner. Participant 12 or under will receive a “Good Citizen Certificate” with a free meal coupon, also from Ruby’s on the pier in Seal Beach.
The beach cleanup takes place from 9 a.m. to noon but volunteers can come for as little as 30 minutes. The cleanup location will be at 90 Termino Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90803. Park in parking lot, walk toward the sand and look for a blue canopy that has a Beach Cleanup banner.
Free parking passes, protective gloves, garbage bags, drinking water and community service certificates will be provided to volunteers.
This event is regularly put on by www.onepieceatatime.net. This month www.saveourbeach.org is has stepped in to help.
