If you only have time to attend 1 beach cleanup this year, this is the one. Be part of a special state-wide event happening on September 19th!
California Coastal Cleanup Day is the premier yearly volunteer event focused on the marine environment. “Coastal Cleanup Day is a great way for families, clubs, students, service groups, and neighbors to join together, take care of our fragile ocean, show community support for our shared natural resources — our beautiful beach and ocean, learn about the impacts of marine debris, how we can prevent them, and to have fun!”
This year there are three sites in and around Seal Beach/Long Beach. Go to www.saveourbeach.org for information and locations. All 3 locations will be giving away the following to the first 200 participants:
- Free Ruby’s shakes for participants over 12
- Free Ruby’s meals for participants 12 & under
- Free reusable grocery bags
- Free Simple Green samples & coupons
“This year we are thrilled to have all of the following 13 cities upriver assisting us in Seal Beach: Anaheim, Covina, Cypress, Duarte, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Hawaiian Gardens, La Puente, Long Beach, Los Alamitos, Orange, Pico Rivera, West Covina,” said organizer Kim Masoner, founder of Save Our Beach.
Go out on Saturday, September 19 any time from 9:00 a.m. until noon to show your support of local beaches. Even a few minutes can make a difference!
