On July 2, representatives from St. Anthony High School’s Class of 1964 formally presented a check to high school President Gina Maguire to underwrite the renovation of the school’s historic Arbor in the Courtyard. The red bougainvillea-shrouded Arbor bordering the school on 7th Street and Olive Avenue in Long Beach was built over 60 years ago to provide seating and shade for students.
St. Anthony High School has announced that Allen Caveness has been named their new Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. Caveness joins St. Anthony following successful stints as a head coach and assistant at the Junior College level, in addition to his continual involvement in the Drew League.
St. Anthony High School outstanding art students Nelson Lewandowski and Megan Anderson St. Anthony High School has two outstanding art students who have been recognized in the media. Long Beach 908 Magazine honored Nelson Lewandowski for his emotional use of art as an escape and a way to balance his life, and Megan Anderson who uses art to balance her involvement with the Long Beach Junior Crew team.
