Today, Tuesday, April 27, Second District residents are invited to lunch with Councilmember Suja Lowenthal and representatives from the Long Beach Police Department. The afternoon meeting will take place from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Paradise Café, 1800 East Broadway.

Commanders from the East and South Divisions, Cynthia Renaud and Jay Johnson will be on hand to address specific neighborhood concerns.

All Second District residents are invited. Attendance to the neighborhood meeting is free. Attendees that would like to lunch can take advantage of a prearranged menu that will be available for $10 including tax. A full range of beverages will be available for additional charge. RSVPs are suggested. Call 562-570-6684.

Councilmember Lowenthal had invited the Long Beach Police Department Chief of Police, Jim McDonnell, to meet residents and business owners in the Second District. However, the Chief will be attending the funeral of former LAPD Chief Darryl Gates.

This is a series of quarterly scheduled Second District Advisory Council meetings that offer residents an opportunity to meet with Councilmember Lowenthal and network with neighborhood representatives throughout the Second District.
