The Sierra Club will host its regular monthly meeting Wednesday, February 5, 2014. This month, Tim Goodrich will provide a presentation regarding the critical link between energy policy, climate change, and our national security. Having witnessed our global war on terror first hand in active duty military, including three deployments to the Middle East, Tim was committed to pushing for change at home to lessen our dependence on foreign oil, and make future wars less likely.
Upon returning home, Tim pursued his education, obtaining a Master of Public Administration and Certificate in Political Management from USC. As an environmentalist, he serves on the Sierra Club’s “Go EV” advisory committee and has worked to increase the Federal fuel efficiency standards by lobbying the Chief of NHTSA and testifying at the EPA hearings in San Francisco.
Tim and his wife drive a Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt and plan to add solar panels to their house in the near future. Tim is currently a candidate for the Torrance City Council in the June, 2014 election.
The Sierra Club monthly meeting is Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 7:30 p.m., at the Environmental Services Bureau, 2929 E Willow St, Long Beach.
The presentation, illustrated by a PowerPoint program, is free and open to the public.
