The Signal Hill Historical Society will present “Breakfast at the Foothill Club,” a historical Signal Hill Pancake Breakfast, on Saturday, September 25, 2010, in Discovery Well Park.
Some colorful figures from our past are sure to be in attendance, such as the Foothill Club’s Bonnie Price; the first woman mayor in California, Jessie Nelson; aviation pioneer, Earl Daugherty; and the infamous “Kid Mexico” (all role-played by members of the Historical Society).
This event will also feature a re-enactment of the first “oil gusher” coming in, presentations about the oil industry and the history of Signal Hill, displays of historical photographs and artifacts, old-fashioned games for the kids to play, some great raffle prizes, and more.
The Signal Hill Historical Society Breakfast at the Foothill Club Pancake Breakfast is Saturday, September 25, 2010, from 9am to 1pm, in Discovery Well Park, 2200 Temple Avenue, Signal Hill, 90755.
Your donation of $6 will help to preserve the history of Signal Hill and give you a fun opportunity to learn about the history of the city while enjoying a delicious breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage.
