Work Evolution Laboratories (WE Labs), Long Beach’s first fully-equipped co-working space for creative professionals, will introduce itself to the local community of entrepreneurs, creatives and freelancers this weekend with a Membership Pre-registration event on Saturday, offering a rare preview before the space officially opens on October 31.
“Me and the WE Labs team have been hard at work prepping for our Grand Opening and want to give the public a sneak peek,” said WE Labs Owner and creator Markus D. Manley. “Designed to cater to the needs of creative professionals, WE Labs provides a nurturing environment where local creative professionals have access to all the tools and connections needed to succeed. We’re excited to share our venture with the Long Beach community, and look forward to showing off what this unique concept is all about.”
Located at 105 W. Broadway, in the heart of beautiful downtown Long Beach, WE Labs inhabits the historical building that was once the home for Birdland West, the famous Jazz club, in the late 80’s through 90’s.
As a co-working space, WE Labs combines the social elements of a coffee house and the functional elements of a workspace so that independent entrepreneurs can be productive, inspire and collaborate with one another. They offer hourly, daily, weekly and month packages. Starting at $10 an hour or $35 for a full day to $375 to have unlimited access from 9am – 6pm, Monday through Saturday.
WE labs is not just a place for people to come to work, it’s where independent business owners come to be a part of a community. Once open to the public on October 31, WE Labs will not only be available to members, but will also offer workshops dedicated to giving back to the community and local schools.
Manley, a Long Beach local for over 13 years, was recently awarded a TED membership for his efforts and is dedicated to bringing the best resources possible to the community. TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) is a global set of conferences formed to disseminate “ideas worth sharing.”
The WE Labs team has set up an account on IndieGoGo, a website available to new businesses and start-up companies looking for donations from peers, investors, locals and out of town supporters. The Membership Pre-Registration event takes place Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. RSVP at www.facebook.com/welabs.us.
