SoCal Challenge Sports Festival Brings Four Competitive Sports To The Beach

The SoCal Challenge Sports Festival – featuring on-the-beach competition in volleyball, tennis, flag football and the Copa Cobana Beach Soccer Tournament – takes to the sand of Belmont Shore Sat. & Sun., Aug. 27-28. The public is admitted free to the event, part of the 2011 Long Beach Sea Festival, and the weekend includes music and food.

Mens/womens beach volleyball competition and co-ed flag football will compete on Saturday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m., with beach tennis doubles playing both days beginning at 9 a.m. For entry fees and more information, visit sinjinsports.com or call (310) 913-0108.

In addition, more than 60 teams – with players ranging in age from 9 years to adult – will also compete Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Copa Cobana Beach Soccer Tournament.

The tournament features teams in boys, girls, mens, womens and adult co-ed divisions.
