Guest speakers Blake Christian and Nancy Pfeffer will talk about the wide variety of valuable Federal and state income tax credits — 8% to 100% of the equipment costs and up to 50% of wage costs — available to businesses, and how they can be used in public private partnerships.
Blake Christian is a Corporate Tax credit Expert with Holthouse Carlin & Van Trigt. One of the areas he specializes in is California green tax incentives and eco credits. View some of his work here.
Nancy Pfeffer, President of Network Public Affairs, provides public policy analysis and communications services to public and private sector clients, focusing on environmental and transportation issues. She also writes a column for LBPOST.com.
The Solar and Sustainability Task Force will also begin organizing for the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour. On Saturday, October 2, more than 160,000 participants will visit some 5,500 buildings in 3,200 communities across the U.S. including Long Beach. This solar energy tour offers the opportunity to explore innovative green homes and buildings to see how to use solar energy, energy efficiency, and other sustainable technologies to reduce monthly utility bills and help tackle climate change.
The 5th District Solar and Sustainability Energy Taskforce meets on the second Monday of the month at the Parks, Recreation & Marine Administration Building, 2760 Studebaker Road, Long Beach, CA 90815. For more information contact Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske’s office by calling 562.570.6932
