ArtExchange (ArtX) has announced Special Exhibitions and program highlights for “artXwalk” on December 13, 2014. A monthly celebration of visual art – each Second Saturday at 3rd and Elm in Long Beach’s East Village Arts District – artXwalk is a free event, open to the public, and full of festivities such as family art activities, live music, artisan vendors, food truck, and art.

artXwalk begins at 6:00 pm, as studio artists present three Special Exhibitions. Kenny McBride’s dreams of a snow-filled Christmas on the beach will come to life with Long Beach Wonderland. Noel Madrid and Rebecca Giesking will take visitors on a journey through the artistic process with Sketching. Christine Fuchs has planned a multi-sensory exploration with Sound & Line. Exhibitions from all other studio artists will be presented throughout ArtX.

“I am humbled each month we open the doors to our main gallery and artist studios,” says ArtX CEO Nicolassa Galvez. “The work from our studio artists and collaborators, along with the contagious excitement of the communities they attract, is truly impossible to beat.”

Festivities continue at 9:00 pm with “artXwalk After Dark”, presented in collaboration with LIFR – a community organization, will feature musical performances from Charles Fullwood, The Black Noise and Hopeless Romantics.

The ArtX Main Gallery features its Third Annual Holiday Salon – which showcases thirty artists and over 200 pieces in the spirit of a French style salon – and runs through January 30, 2014.  The special selection of pieces creates a perfect opportunity to #BuyArtLB for the holidays.

Long Beach Wonderland (Artist: Kenny McBride) – viewable at McArts Studios, 352 East Third Street – presents a magical holiday series by studio artist Kenny McBride. Wreaths on every street post, lights in every window, snowman on the sidewalks, smiles across all faces; young and old alike. Christmas parades and skyscraping trees that sparkle, dazzle and delight! Throw on flip flops, run outside and play in a Long Beach Wonderland! For more information on the artist visit: mcarts.net

Sound & Line (Artist: Christine Fuchs) – viewable at 352 East Third Street – invites guests to  experience an exploration between Fuchs’ large-scale gestural paintings, sound, and the space in between.
