Martin Daraz educates and entertains whisky aficionados aboard the Queen Mary at a special five-course dinner paired with select spirits from Highland Park.

Whisky aficionados have something to look forward to this month. On Thursday, April 11, 2013 the Queen Mary will host an entertaining and informative scotch whisky seminar and dinner with Scotch Whisky Ambassador Martin Daraz.

Martin Daraz is the Brand Ambassador for Highland Park Single Malt Scotch Whisky in the USA and Asia Pacific. Less than two years into his job as Highland Park Brand Ambassador, Martin was awarded the Ambassador of the Year award by The Whisky Guild of America, in recognition of his contribution to Scotch Whisky awareness and education. Since then Martin has gone on to present to standing-room only seminars at every Whisky Fest and Whisky Live convention in the USA as well as Walt Disney’s Annual Epcot Food and Wine Festival. With a combination of knowledge, humor and audience participation, his whisky presentations have become the standard by which others are judged. 

Martin regularly presents to audiences across America that include everyone from Fortune 500 CEOs to tattooed bartenders. When not collaborating with world renowned chefs like Johnny Iuzzini, host of Bravo Television’s Top Chef Just Desserts, Martin can be found working on new cocktail recipes with bartenders like Joe Brooke of Mixology 101 and winner of NBC’s America’s Top Bartender.

For $110 (plus tax and gratuity), guests can enjoy champagne and Hors d’oeuvres, followed by a five-course special menu paired with The Black Grouse, The Macallan and Highland Park while learning all about whisky from highly acclaimed whisky expert Martin Daraz.

Smoked Quail stuffed with black currant and wood ear mushrooms, arugula and aged balsamic

Miso Sea Bass with oven roasted eggplant, sea beans, baby bok choy and The Macallan butter

Third Course
Butcher’s cut dry aged rib eye, Highland Park fortified demi glace charred spring onion
