How long have you been in business?

15 years

Describe PHD Restoration:

Artistic restoration and finishing for boats, beach property, luxury condo, wood, painting, lacquers and just about everything else …

From complete finishing of the 2 “Brigantine” for the Los Angeles Maritime Museum to small classic 1959 “Chris Craft” — all done in my LB shop.

Why did you start PHD Restoration?

I was originally a French jeweler and operated a large garment plan in Downtown LA. I also owned a old wooden boat that I started restoring it for fun. Years later, I moved to Long Beach and restoration and woodworking become my main activity.

What makes PHD Restoration stand out?

Our Artisan quality spreads through word of mouth.

What is the biggest success PHD Restoration has had?

Brigantine youth project at the Los Angeles Maritime Museum. These two wooden vessels based in San Pedro (130 foot each) kept us busy for over a year. And it sails every week the Long Beach waters and the world.

What is your favorite part of running your business?

Research to achieve perfection.

Applying my experience in marine finishing to real estate.

“Perfection is possible ” — from my master jeweller teacher

In 15 years I’ve seen Long Beach is getting better & better … I am here to stay .
