EverythingLongBeach.com recently spoke with Hali Wolf, Founder / president of His little feet Inc, via email. They talked about the inspirations and challenges of running a nonprofit organization in Long Beach.

How long has His little feet Inc been around? Did it start in Long Beach?

We have around 2 1/2 years. Yes, it started in Long Beach Jan 2014.

Describe His little feet Inc. Tell us a little about your nonprofit, your mission, the people you serve or your goals.

We provide gently used and new shoes to homeless children and at risk students in Long Beach. Stomping on poverty one pair of shoes at a time! Any student with emergency shoe needs can call HLF year around and receive a new pair of socks and shoes. Our goal is to help all students in need of shoes in Long Beach and Orange County.

How is His little feet Inc different from similar nonprofits?

We are grassroots a organization that operated by volunteers — very similar to the way other non profit are running.

How is His little feet Inc involved with the community?

We deliver shoes  monthly to 5 schools in Long Beach.

What are some of the biggest successes His little feet Inc has had?

Back to school shoe drive in August 2015 brought in 623 pairs of shoes! This week we found a 10-caret diamond bracelet and gold earrings in a donated shoe and found the owners, returned them within 24hrs.

What is the most rewarding part of running His little feet Inc?

The most rewarding part of doing HLF is the  success stories told by principles, and staff members about how the students are excelling and changing their lives.

What are the challenges you face — as a nonprofit, as an advocacy group, or in your industry?

Getting the word out on our drop off locations is our biggest challenge!

What are the future plans for His little feet Inc?

We hope to be a shoe for Long Beach and Orange County in the future.

Do you have any special events or fundraisers you’d like to tell us about?

Yes back-to-school is our biggest event August 1-21 , 2016. We are planning an annual lunch-in, shoe fashion show and silent auction. In October 2016. More to come !
