Spring break is for adventures and that’s just what the Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine El Dorado Nature Center has planned for kids this week, April 5 through April 9 at local parks.
Spring Fun Days are taking place all around Long Beach this week. Local parks are extending their hours so that children can visit their neighborhood park for scheduled drop-in activities including games, arts and crafts, special events, field trips and more.
Call your neighborhood park for their specific schedules of activities. Spring Fun Days is a free drop in program and there is no custodial childcare provided.
The El Dorado Nature Center will host Spring Break Workshops at the Nature Center. Individual workshops take place daily for kids from kindergarten through fourth grades. Topics will include:
- Animal Olympics on Tuesday, April 6
- Where the Wilds Things Are on Wednesday, April 7
- The Art of Nature on Thursday, April 8
- can you dig it! on Friday, April 9
Morning sessions, 9:30-11:30 a.m, are for kindergarten and first graders. Afternoon classes, 1-3 p.m., are for second through fourth graders.
