St. Anthony High School announces its largest community event, the 5th Annual Saints Run 5K, on Saturday, March 29th in Shoreline Village. The Race begins with registration and warm-up at 7:00 am, with a start promptly at 8:30 am. Registration is set up near Parker’s Lighthouse, with the course winding around one of Long Beach’s most picturesque downtown locations passing through Shoreline Village, the Aquarium of the Pacific, continuing along the shore, out and around the lighthouse and back through the Long Beach Marina.

This year the Official Race Sponsor is Douglas A. Smith M.D., local dermatologist and St. Anthony High School alumnus. Dr. Smith follows in the footsteps of past top sponsors such as Molina Health Care and St. Mary Medical Center, who are also sponsors once again this year. This year’s Race attracted more than 40 new individual, businesses and community sponsors such as Caruso Ford, the Port of Long Beach, Sports Authority, Super Mex, Chili’s, the CVB, DLBA and others.

For experienced runners, the race course is ideal and timing is provided by Pacific Coast Race Timing, but the Saints Run 5K is designed as a community race for everyone to enjoy, as a run/walk course. All entrants receive a specially-designed commemorative race t-shirt, St. Mary Medical Center’s Mobile Care Van will be onsite offering free blood screening tests and the top three runners in all age groups receive first, second and third place medals. The race is organized through the St. Anthony High School Parents and Educators in Partnership (PEP) organization and supported by St. Anthony’s Alumni, Advisory Council and Foundation.
