On Sunday, November 4th at 1:00 p.m., St. Anthony High School will host an Open House for students and families interested in a small values-based high school where students receive a UC/CSU-track college preparatory education. Guests are invited to enter the school’s main entrance at 620 Olive Avenue (6th & Olive) in Long Beach. Tours will be led by students who are President’s Ambassadors and visitors will have the opportunity to speak directly with faculty and staff in classrooms throughout the high school. Application packets will be available.
St. Anthony’s is a Catholic high school founded in 1920 with a strong tradition and historic presence in the greater Long Beach community. The high school has served Long Beach area families for over 90 years, providing a highly competitive college preparatory learning environment where every student has the opportunity to excel. The current enrollment is 480 students and enrollment is on track to reach 530 students next Fall. Only 150 freshmen students will be accepted, so early application is recommended.
St. Anthony is a wireless campus with an infrastructure that is technologically advanced as the school launched its “iPads For All” Program this Fall. This program provided an iPad for every student and teacher to enhance the entire learning experience and prepare students for college. Interactive whiteboards are installed in every classroom and the school offers a wide array of Advanced Placement and Honors classes along with innovative programs such as the Marine Science Academy. Sports are competitive yet accessible and there are many opportunities for leadership development through programs such as President’s Ambassadors, Rotary Interact Club, Campus Ministry and student government. Spiritual and ethical formation is a part of everyday life. Small classes and personal attention promote scholarship, thanks to St. Anthony’s top-notch, dedicated teachers who help prepare each student for success. For the past three years 100% of St. Anthony’s graduates have gone on to attend college and last year 76% of the graduating seniors were accepted into a four-year university. Information regarding financial aid is available at St. Anthony’s and is included in the application packets.
Interested applicants are encouraged to attend the Open House or contact the Registrar Lori Tribble at 562-435-4456 for more information.
