St. Anthony High School’s SAINTS RUN 2015 in downtown Long Beach at Shoreline Village will kick off at 8:00 am sharp this Saturday, March 28, 2015. Each year, the race has grown with participants and sponsor support from all around the southland.

“Our school has emerged once again as an educational leader in our city,” says Gina Maguire, President of St. Anthony High School. “We provide continued support to families of all economic levels so that they may attend a small school with high quality, college preparatory education that will give them the ability to attend a college of their choice; we have been doing this for 95 years. The SAINTS RUN 5K is a great way to live out our shared mission of outreach and service.”

The race kicks off on the boardwalk in front of Parker’s Lighthouse Restaurant, and runs along the beautiful Long Beach shoreline, in front and around of the Aquarium of the Pacific, under the Magnolia bridge, out and around the Long Beach Lighthouse, and finishes back in Shoreline Village, where many relax and enjoy the wonderful array of shops and dinning available in Shoreline Village.

Pre-registration will be available at Sports Authority at 4950 Faculty Ave. in Lakewood on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 3:00pm-7:00pm; pre-registration is $15 for participants 18 and younger and $30 for participants 19 and older. On race day, registration beings at 7:00am; race day registration will be $25 for participants 18 and younger and $40 for participants 19 and older.

All entrants receive a specially-designed souvenir SAINTS RUN T-shirt; water and treats at the finish; there will be optional blood screening tests sponsored by St. Mary Medical Center; and the top three runners in all age categories will receive official SAINTS RUN medals immediately following the race. The race is organized and hosted by the SAHS Parents and Educator in Partnership (PEP) organization.

The SAINTS RUN, now in its 6th year, expects to draw more than 1,000 participants focusing on education, community and good health. St. Anthony High School (SAHS) and its race sponsors reach out to the community each year to extend access to the high school’s high quality, small school, college preparatory program to all economic levels of our city. For the past 6 years, 100% of SAHS graduates have gone on to attend colleges throughout the U.S. or serve in the military, and 76% of last year’s graduates were admitted to four-year universities.

More than 35 race sponsors joined the race again this year. Race Sponsors include: PLATINUM: – Moncure Family / Wynne Family; GOLD – Class of 2015; SILVER: – AC Pipe & Equipment, Co.; Caruso Ford; Class of 1967; Crew, Inc.; Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau; Downtown Long Beach Associates; Lane-Aire Manufacturing; Molina Healthcare; St. Mary Medical Center; The Port of Long Beach; The Press Telegram; The Bus Company; BRONZE: AREC; Campion Family; Clif Bar; Gary DeLong; Douglas A.
