The Center for Pelvic Health at St. Mary Medical Center will host a free Uterine Fibroid Seminar On Wednesday, May 27th at 7:00 p.m., on the St. Mary campus at 1050 Linden Avenue in the Health Enhancement Center.
Fibroid tumors of the uterus are the most common benign growths and can cause women to have heavy menstrual bleeding or pelvic pain. Forty percent of women over the age of 40 suffer from fibroids. They are the reason for almost 300,000 hysterectomies, and 250,000 myomectomies in the U.S. each year. A new therapy, uterine artery embolization offers a non-surgical cure to shrink fibroids 50%.
The public is invited to attend and hear a physician who specializes in uterine fibroid embolization discuss options for relief of pain and discomfort. Please call St. Mary at 888-4-STMARY (888-478-6279), to reserve a seat.
