St. Mary Center for Surgical Treatment of ObesityMarch is National Nutrition Month and on Saturday, March 10 at 11 a.m., the St. Mary Center for Surgical Treatment of Obesity will host a meeting featuring Dr. Malgorzata Stanczyk, one of their leading bariatric surgeons who will speak about the critical role of good nutrition in long-term weight loss. The talk, held in the Health Enhancement Center – Room B, on the St. Mary campus at 1055 Linden Avenue, is part of the program’s free monthly Weight Loss Seminar/Support Group, held every second Saturday.

The meeting is also an opportunity for individuals considering bariatric surgery to interact with patients who have already undergone a surgical weight loss procedure. The Obesity Center’s clinical staff will be available to provide information about the life-enhancing benefits of bariatric surgery for those suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, joint pain and sleep apnea. The community is invited to get their questions answered about the bariatric surgeries offered at the St. Mary Center for Surgical Treatment of Obesity, including the Fobi Pouch, the Lap band, Gastric Bypass and the Gastric Sleeve.
