Mad Hatter Tea melds traditions for Mothers and Daughters

In recognition of Mother’s Day, adult mothers and daughters are invited to the St. Mary Medical Center Senior Health Program’s Annual Mother and Daughter “Mad Hatter” Tea on May 6.
There will be a special treat this year with the Long Beach Japanese Cultural Center performing a traditional tea ceremony. Guests are encouraged to wear their best, prettiest, funniest or biggest spring bonnet and compete in the fun-filled hat contest.
A tasty meal will be served and there were be other activities, including karaoke with “oldies but goodies” tunes. All participants will be eligible for the door prize drawing.
The free Mother / Daughter Mad Hatter Tea Party will take place on Thursday, May 6. Doors open at 3:15 p.m. in the Parr Health Enhancement Center at 1055 Linden Avenue on the St. Mary campus.
