Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Queen Mary as it hosts its inaugural Shamrock ‘n’ Roll Saturday, March 17 in Long Beach. Rousing Irish party songs and Celtic rock music will take over three venues aboard the historic ocean liner. Doors open at 6 p.m. and festivities include admission to all three concerts for just one ticket price of $15. How’s that for a little luck ‘o the Irish?
The amazing line-up of live entertainment includes performances by Sligo Rags, The Hollywood Stones and Oxalis featuring Swan Montgomery.
Named among the top acoustic bands in Los Angeles, Sligo Rags have taken the Southern California Celtic music scene by storm with a satisfying blend of Celtic, Jazz and bluegrass influences. No strangers to the boisterous Irish pub scene, Oxalis also regularly performs in Southern California, delighting fans with their contemporary spin on traditional Irish tunes. And though best known as a Rolling Stones tribute band, The Hollywood Stones undoubtedly have a few Irish tricks up their sleeves.
“We are continuously striving to offer our visitors an experience unlike any other,” said Director of Entertainment Events Steve Sheldon for the Queen Mary. “We’re really excited to introduce Shamrock ‘n’ Roll this year as a unique alternative to the typical St. Patrick’s Day bar scene.”
The Queen Mary’s Shamrock ‘n’ Roll is open to all ages and the fun goes from 6 p.m. to midnight. Guests must be 21 years or older with valid ID to purchase alcohol. Event tickets are available for $15 (parking additional).
Double the luck: St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday making it perfect for a weekend getaway. The Shamrock ‘n’ Roll Package includes an overnight stay for two, two tickets to Shamrock ‘n’ Roll and Champagne Brunch for two. Rates start at $199 based on double occupancy.
