The Long Beach Dance Academy was designed to give inner-city youth in Long Beach and surrounding cities the opportunity to explore art through performance and movement.

As visual and street art in Long Beach takes center stage, performing arts among Long Beach’s inner city youth will not be left behind thanks to the dedication of Long Beach choreographer Krystle Braxton.

Founded by Long Beach choreographer Krystle Braxton, dance genres include ballet, jazz, hip hop, African and praise dance. Students are taught a number of dance routines, in which they perform for audiences throughout Los Angeles County. They also prepare for a final performance for family and friends, normally held at the Bellflower Civic Center.

The Long Beach Dance Academy is now accepting new dance students for summer – winter sessions.  Classes start July  through December 1 for ages 2 – 17. Registration is open through the entire month of July.  Prices include: Ages 2 – 5, $25 per month; Ages 6 and up, $50 per month, and there is a $20 registration fee for all students. Classes are held on Sunday and Thursday evenings, at the Long Beach Dance Academy’s studio in North Long Beach.

For more information, contact Krystle Braxton at (562) 637-3633 or email her at longbeachdance@gmail.com.
