Support the Arts Council with a purchase from Barns & Noble

If you’ve been meaning to buy a book, magazine or CD lately, or if you want to do some early holiday shopping, mark your calendar for October 17, 18 and 19.

In support of National Arts and Humanities Month and GLOBAL: Greater Long Beach Arts Lab, the Arts Council for Long Beach is partnering with Barnes & Noble Towne Center to raise funds for local arts and cultural non-profit organizations.

The Barnes & Noble Bookfair is a fundraiser for the Arts Council for Long Beach. The book store will donate a portion of sales made on October 17, 18 and 19 to the community arts grants.

The Arts Council will use the donations to expand its grant program to local arts and cultural non-profit grantees.

Here’s how the book fair works:

• Download a page of six vouchers from the Arts Council’s website at www.artslb.org.
• Clip a voucher for yourself, and give five to your friends.
• Give a voucher to the cashier at Barnes & Noble Towne Center with any purchase you make on October 17, 18 or 19.

A portion of your sale will support local arts, which means the more you buy, the more Barnes & Noble will donate. Vouchers are good with any purchase including sales items and coffee lounge snacks.
