Suspect Claude Edward Foulk arrested by Long Beach Police for 35 counts of child molestation.

The executive director of the Napa State Hospital was arrested February 24 following an investigation launched  by the Sex Crimes Detail of the Long Beach Police Department in September 2009.

Detectives arrested Claude Edward Foulk, 62 on a warrant issued by The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. He is being held with bail set at 3.5 millon dollars.

Foulk is charged with 35 felony counts of Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Child, including 22 counts of forcible oral copulation, 11 counts of sodomy by use of force, and two counts of a forcible lewd act on a child. If convicted on all counts, Foulk faces more than 280 years in prison.

According to allegations, Foulk sexually molested his 10-year-old foster son for more than a decade when they lived in Long Beach. The molestation allegedly continued from 1992 through 2003, after he and the youth moved to Walnut.

Allegations of sexual abuse that reportedly occurred in Rancho Murietta between 2004 and 2006 are also being investigated. So far, five male victims all under the age of 14 years-old at the time of the incidents have been identified. Authorities say there are numerous other alleged victims who fall outside the statute of limitations.

Police were alerted to the allegations of sexual assault last year after one alleged victim, now in his 40s, discovered Foulk was in charge of a hospital in Northern California. The hospital houses inmates who are sexual offenders.

The Long Beach Police Department is seeking additional victims. Anyone who has information is urged to contact the sex crimes detatail at (562) 570-7368 immediately.
