Sylvia Lynch Named Chief Information Systems Officer at LBCC

Long Beach City College (LBCC) announced the hiring of Sylvia Lynch as the new Chief Information Systems Officer. Lynch will be responsible for managing all information technology and computer systems that support LBCC’s instructional programs and administrative operations at the college.
Lynch has over 25 years of Higher Education Information Technology experience having worked as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Information Technology Services at Rancho Santiago Community College, and the Chief Information Officer at Chapman University and Biola University.
“Sylvia brings a wealth of experience to Long Beach City College after having worked in similar roles at other private and community colleges,” said Ann-Marie Gabel, LBCC’s Vice President of Administrative Services. “I am confident that she will serve our students, faculty and staff well by providing access to the best technology available.”
Lynch earned her Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University, her Bachelor of Science degree from Azusa Pacific University and moved to the Long Beach area seven years ago.
“As a Long Beach resident, I am very excited about coming to Long Beach City College and look forward to doing all I can to provide students and employees the technology and tools they need to be successful,” said Lynch.
Long Beach City College serves over 30,000 students annually and attracts over 80,000 unique visitors monthly to its website.
