Taste of Nicaragua for November’s Latin Brunch Series at Hotel Maya

Fuego’s Latin America culinary tour continues to Nicaragua in November as Executive Chef Victor Juarez presents the next Latin Brunch Series on Sunday, November 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A special Nicaraguan musical performance by “FJ Reyes and Friends” will be featured during the culinary tour stop.

Fuego is also offering Nicaraguan food and drink specials daily throughout November with delicious Chili Relleno, Carne Asada and Orange Flan along with refreshing adult beverages including Macua and Nica Libre.

The Latin America culinary tour continues to Venezuela on December 15. To date, Fuego’s Latin America culinary tour has visited Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Columbia, Guatemala, Argentina, Cuba, Brazil, Peru and Chile in January through October respectively.

Executive Chef Juarez’s Nicaraguan menu begins with the brunch entrée that is a la carte, ordered through the server and includes one selection of Fuego Eggs Benedict with two poached eggs, sautéed spinach, applewood smoked bacon, English muffins, hollandaise, broiled tomato and hash browns; Vaho with pork, skirt steak, green plantain and Yucca baked in banana leaves, curtido (cabbage escabeche), and gallo pinto; Chile Relleno with stuffed roasted chile with shredded beef, eggs, cheese, aji asado sauce, black beans, and serrano cream; Carne Asada with sautéed New York steak, fried plantains, cabbage escabeche, and gallo pinto; Vigorón with fried pork, steamed Yucca root, and cabbage escabeche; Pollo Encebollado with sautéed chicken, onions, mustard, worcestershire sauce, steamed white rice, and tomato and cucumber salad; Huachinango with pan seared whole fish, herbed tomato sauce, cabbage salad, tomato, and cucumber; Mixed Shish Kebab with skewer shrimp, chicken, skirt steak, fried plantains, steamed white rice, and curtido (cabbage escabeche); Grilled Lobster Tail with a 12-ounce lobster tail, butter, cilantro garlic sauce, steamed white rice, and pepper escabeche (Grilled Lobster Tail includes a $10 supplement).

The Nicaragua entrée is backed by Fuego’s “Endless Indulgence” stations featuring sumptuous Soups and Salads with Butternut Squash, Salpicon, Ensalada Russa (beet and potato salad), Hearts of Palm salad, Cheese and Tomato salad, Fuego Caesar salad, and Sweet Potato salad, Domestic and Imported cheeses, Sliced Fresh Fruits, Grilled Vegetables, Shrimp Cocktail and Cocktail Mixto.

Fuego’s Nicaragua specialty Pupusas and Tamales station includes a fresh selection of Pupusas, Tamales and Quesillo with steamed yucca root, cabbage escabeche, and fresh homemade salsas.

The Delicious Desserts station includes an assortment of mini breakfast pastries, Tres Leches cake, Arroz con Leche, Orange Flan and caramel sauce, assorted mini cakes, Vanilla Raisin Bread Pudding, Buñuelos, Pineapple Empanadas, Pan Dulce, Horchata, Tamarindo, and Cinnamon-Sugar Churros with cajeta caramel sauce.

The Latin Brunch Series – Nicaragua costs $43.00 per adult and children, 13 and older; $21.50 for children, 12 and under; plus tax and gratuity. An 18 percent gratuity will be added to parties of six or more.
