Taste of Downtown set to serve up delicious eats in the East Village Arts District

Tantalize your taste buds with delicious eats from some of Downtown’s most popular restaurants as the Taste of Downtown returns with an evening of food and live music under the stars on Wednesday, June 30 from 6-9PM.
The Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA) will present the first Taste of Downtown in the East Village Arts District (1st Street between Elm and Linden) on Wednesday, June 30 featuring delicious cuisine from a variety of Downtown restaurants it was announced today by President and Chief Executive Officer, Kraig Kojian.
Located in one of Downtown’s most eclectic neighborhoods, the Taste of Downtown in the East Village will offer residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy sample-sized servings of signature dishes from some of their favorite Downtown restaurants. Participants include: Utopia, Village Grind, District Wine Bar, sip, Buono’s Pizzaria, Parker’s Lighthouse, Kabob Curry and others.
The Pawn Shop Kings – local band and winner of last year’s Busker Festival (part of the DLBA and Long Beach Redevelopment Agency’s Summer And Music series), where the group opened for the Cold War Kids – will perform live beginning at 6PM.
“Taste of Downtown is an excellent opportunity for consumers to sample dishes from their favorite restaurants and to try something new,” said Kojian. “Downtown is full of choices when it comes to dining and this event really showcases the diversity and quality of the overall experience.”
Tickets will be sold at the event for $1 each. Each restaurant will redeem tickets in exchange for a serving of their signature dish(es), offering attendees the chance to sample and savor some of Downtown’s best cuisine. Those who purchase a pack of 24 tickets will receive a complimentary ticket to the Aquarium, valid any day until the end of the year.
