The Art Theatre Hosts First Annual Long Beach ‘Zombie Walk’ & “Shaun of the Dead” Screening

shaun-of-the-deadAttention horror fans, cult cinema junkies, and zombies everywhere: come join MondoCelluloid, Alive Theatre and The Art Theatre of Long Beach on Saturday, May 30th as they celebrate the First Annual ‘Zombie Walk’ with a special screening of the cult classic, “Shaun of the Dead”. This event follows the ‘Last Saturdays on 4th” monthly soiree along 4th Street (Junipero to Cherry Aves; 6-9pm).

Join the living dead in your finest zombie attire for a meet-up at Portfolio Coffeehouse (2300 E. 4th Street) at 10:00pm. Tear up an old t-shirt, throw on some makeup, throw your arms out, and proclaim your hunger for braaiiinns! Then sloooowly moan and groan your way down 4th to The Art Theatre (2025 E. 4th Street)! The screening of Edgar Wright’s “Shaun of the Dead” begins at 11:00 p.m.

“Shaun of the Dead” is a 2004 British zombie comedy film directed by Edgar Wright, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and written by Pegg and Wright. The plot focuses on Shaun, a young man who is attempting to get some kind of focus in his life as he reconciles with his ex-girlfriend and settles his various issues with his mother and stepfather. At the same time he has to cope with an apocalyptic uprising of zombies that is destroying society.
