Yoga will concede to dance for one night on Saturday, October 16, 2010, as The Infinite yoga and movement center present Tribal: Infinite Style, a dance showcase featuring an exciting variety of choreography and dance styles performed by a few of The Infinite’s instructors. Live West African drumming will accompany performances and guests can enjoy a freestyle dancing segment with diverse rhythms, and an inspiring atmosphere.
Tribal: Infinite Style will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at The Infinite, located at 517 Pine Ave., Long Beach, CA, 90802. A suggested donation of $5 is requested for entry.
Proceeds will benefit the Axe L.A. Cultural Center, a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit organization. This public event is open to all ages and yogis and dancers of all levels are encouraged to attend.
“We are here to help others elevate themselves to live up to their true potential. Dance is my passion, a creative source that feeds my soul and allows me to express from the heart”, said Chrissy Cox, co-founder of The Infinite and fire dancing troupe Sirena Serpentina.
Following just two months after their grand opening and successful Shakti Shala Yoga Festival, Cox anticipates another great opportunity to share The Infinite’s message of health, happiness and wholeness.
“I hope to continue to inspire others through dance, through music, through yoga so that they can ignite that spark within”, added Cox. ”When people can live from the heart and do what they love, they are helping to share peace and joy everyday of their lives.”
Two of The Infinite’s dance instructors will join Chrissy in performing varied dance styles. Cassandra Flowers, whose dance background includes ballet, Latin Ballroom and African dance will present two dance pieces, along with multi-style dancer and instructor, Sharreace Baldwin. Musical accompaniment by David Hilal and the West African Drumming Ensemble will form a lively rhythmic pulse at the heart of each dance.
