Premieres At the Long Beach PlayhouseThe Long Beach Repertory Theatre will present their maiden production of “Talking With…” by Jane Martin opening November 11th at the Long Beach Playhouse, the first offering in their series entitled “The Collaborative.”

The Repertory Company is composed of professional actors from the Long Beach and Orange County areas, who are dedicated to bringing quality theatre to the area. An outgrowth initially of classes taught by Artistic Director Frederick Ponzlov, who trained with the renowned New York acting impresario Sandford Meisner, felt there was need in the city for such a venture. “Many of our actors have worked together now for seven and eight years, and it was time for them to move forward with their craft. ‘Talking With…’ a series of provocative and moving stories all told by women, provides the ideal vehicle for the incredible depth of actresses we have in our company, who range in age from 21 to 84.” The play is touching, often intensely emotional, and sometimes very comical. Each woman’s story, unusual and unique in its presentation, gives rare sensitive insight into the lives each actress inhabits.

The company is in the process of looking for a permanent home for their theatre.

”We have already raised close to $100,000, and we are hoping that someone will step forward with the ideal space. If there is anyone who always wanted to have a theatre named after them, this is the perfect opportunity,” Ponzlov laughed.
“Talking With…” premieres November 11th at the Long Beach Playhouse and runs through December 4.
