There’s Still Time for Summer Fun Camp for Kids

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine offers people of all ages opportunities to improve physical fitness, express their creativity and to just have fun. Here are some fun youth classes that are currently accepting registrations:
Top Chef Camp
Learn how to handle food, prepare fun, delicious dishes and master delectable competitions. At the end of the week, each student will invite two guests to our restaurant for the final day’s meal. Ages 7 to 12. Monday, Aug. 22, to Friday, Aug. 26, 1 to 4 pm, $135 per student.
Youth Animation Film Camp This is the ultimate arts and crafts camp! Students ages 7 to 13 will create, direct, and film a new movie each day with different styles of stop-motion animation. All films will be professionally edited and a DVD will be mailed to every student. Monday, Aug. 22, to Friday, Aug. 26, 1:30 to 4:30 pm, El Dorado Park West, $182 per student, with a $35 production fee payable to IncrediFlix.
Silly Summer Stories: Preschool Reading Adventure
Bring your imagination and sense of adventure and meet beneath the trees. Discover the sunny summer season, and embrace the “brilliance of silly” through storytelling, art exploration, dramatic play, music, and mayhem. August 29 to September 2, with a session from 9 to 10:30 am for ages 3 to 4; and a session from 11 am to 12:30 pm for ages 3 to 5. This event is $45 per student.
